INGREDIENT
TAURINE
2-aminoethanesulfonic acid · CAS 107-35-7
A sulfur-containing compound found throughout the body and used across energy, hydration and recovery formulas.
WHAT IT IS
Taurine is a sulfonic acid rather than a true amino acid, although it is usually grouped with them. It occurs naturally in muscle, heart and nervous tissue, and in foods such as fish and shellfish.
It is highly water-soluble and carries a permanent charge at body pH — a chemical property that is directly relevant to how any molecule behaves at a skin barrier.
WHY FORMULAS USE IT
- It is a category-standard inclusion in energy and hydration formulas.
- It is stable, well tolerated orally, and easy to dose consistently.
WHAT THE EVIDENCE COVERS
Oral taurine has a broad research base across exercise and general physiology, with mixed findings depending on dose and context.
Nothing in that oral literature describes taurine delivered through skin, and VYROTECH does not present it as though it does.
CONTENT IS NOT ABSORPTION
Charged, highly water-soluble molecules generally face a harder path across the outer skin layer than small, partly fat-soluble ones. This is a general principle of skin science, not a measurement of any VYROTECH patch.
Treat the label figure as patch content only.
LIMITATIONS & CAUTIONS
- • For adults 18+. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- • Consult your doctor before use if you have a medical condition or take medication.
IN THE VYROTECH RANGE
Doses shown are the quantity contained in each patch's active layer. They are not a delivered, absorbed or dietary intake figure.
