INGREDIENT
L-TYROSINE
4-hydroxyphenylalanine · CAS 60-18-4
An amino acid the body also makes from phenylalanine, used as a precursor ingredient in focus and performance formulas.
WHAT IT IS
L-tyrosine is one of the amino acids used to build proteins. The body can also produce it from another amino acid, phenylalanine, which is why it is described as conditionally non-essential.
It is a precursor in the pathway that produces the catecholamine neurotransmitters — a biochemical fact about the body, not a claim about what any supplement does.
WHY FORMULAS USE IT
- Its role as a precursor is the reason it appears in focus and performance blends across the category.
- It is a well-characterised, stable ingredient that is straightforward to dose.
WHAT THE EVIDENCE COVERS
L-tyrosine has been researched orally, largely in the context of demanding cognitive or environmental conditions. Findings are mixed and dose-dependent.
No VYROTECH claim is made that these oral findings apply to a skin-contact format.
CONTENT IS NOT ABSORPTION
Being a precursor to a pathway inside the body says nothing about whether an ingredient crosses skin.
The figure on the label is the amount in the patch, full stop.
LIMITATIONS & CAUTIONS
- • Not suitable for anyone with phenylketonuria (PKU).
- • For adults 18+. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- • Consult your doctor before use if you take medication, particularly thyroid medication or MAO inhibitors.
