INGREDIENT

L-THEANINE

N-ethyl-L-glutamine · CAS 3081-61-6

A non-protein amino acid found naturally in tea leaves, conventionally paired with caffeine in focus and energy formulas.

WHAT IT IS

L-theanine is an amino acid that occurs naturally in the leaves of Camellia sinensis — the tea plant. It is not one of the amino acids used to build protein in the body, which is why it is described as a non-protein amino acid.

It is water-soluble and, like caffeine, a relatively small molecule.

WHY FORMULAS USE IT

  • It is the conventional partner ingredient to caffeine. Formulators across the category pair the two because tea naturally contains both.
  • It allows a formula to include a stimulant alongside a non-stimulant amino acid rather than stacking stimulants on top of each other.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE COVERS

L-theanine has been studied orally, most often in combination with caffeine. As with caffeine, that research describes swallowed doses.

VYROTECH makes no claim that oral L-theanine findings describe the behaviour or effect of L-theanine in a skin-contact patch.

CONTENT IS NOT ABSORPTION

The dose listed on a VYROTECH label is the quantity in the patch's active layer, not a delivered dose.

Amino acids differ widely in how they behave at the skin barrier, and a listed milligram figure should never be read as a systemic dose.

LIMITATIONS & CAUTIONS

  • Individual response varies.
  • For adults 18+. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you take medication.

IN THE VYROTECH RANGE

Doses shown are the quantity contained in each patch's active layer. They are not a delivered, absorbed or dietary intake figure.
