What Are Performance Patches?

A performance patch is an adhesive patch with an active layer formulated around training, energy, hydration or focus ingredients. You apply it to clean, dry skin and wear it for a stated window rather than swallowing or drinking anything.

The term covers a wide range of products. In the VYROTECH range it spans five different formulas doing five different jobs — pre-training energy, sustained focus, daily strength support, electrolytes and active-lifestyle support. They share a format, not a purpose.

The honest case for the format is logistics. There is no shaker to wash, no powder to measure, no capsule count to remember and nothing to carry. For people who train early, travel, work shifts or simply dislike drinking flavoured chemistry before a session, that is the appeal.

The dishonest case for the format — and it is everywhere in this industry — is absorption. You will see claims about bypassing digestion, 100% absorption, instant delivery and clinically proven transdermal technology. Treat every one of those as a warning sign.

Here is why. There are five separate questions in play, and marketing routinely collapses them into one. How much ingredient is in the patch. How much is released from the patch. How much crosses the skin. How much reaches the bloodstream. And how much of that is actually available to the body. A number printed on a label answers only the first question.

Skin is a barrier, and it is a good one. Whether any given molecule crosses it depends heavily on size, charge and how it partitions between water and fat. Small, partly fat-soluble molecules such as caffeine are the ones usually described as plausible candidates. Large molecules such as vitamin B12, and charged ones such as mineral ions and creatine, are much harder cases.

That is why VYROTECH publishes the full active layer — every ingredient, every dose, every CAS number — and describes those figures as patch content rather than delivered dose. It is also why we will not borrow oral supplement research to describe what a patch does.
